Digital Clinical Experience Score This comprehensive physical assessment was done on 28-year-old Tina Jones in Shadow Health. Following completion of the assessment a digital clinical experience score was given. The digital clinical experience score “is a measurement that compares a student’s performance relative to their peers in the same assignment” (Shadow Health). This score is used to measure your progress and gauge how well you have completed the assignment. This score is an accurate reflection of the effort put into the assignment. The clinical experience score I received for this assignment was 94.3%. It is indicated that the average score for this assignment is an 82%. This average is indicated by the faculty as to how they expect the average student to perform. This showed I did well on my assessment as compared to others, indicating my clinical assessment skills, in theory, are proficient. Though, this does not relate fully to clinical practice as this is a simulation and not real-life clinical practice. Student Performance Index (SPI) The SPI score is used to evaluate clinical judgement and critical thinking skills in relation to patient exams. This score consists of subjective data collection and objective data collection. In some cases, this score consists of education and empathy, care plans, information processing, patient teaching, prescription writing, and medication selection. A point total is created from the previously listed items. This score also compares student performance against the level expected of a high-performing graduate at the end of their course of study (Shadow Health Website). The SPI assigns a proficiency level comparing the student’s abilities to others nationwide. My SPI was 100 out of 106, meaning I hit 100 out of 106 points in the subjective and objective data collection. The proficiency level given was proficient. While in theory this indicates entry level
