ASSESSMENT CHANGES FOR THE 2021 ACADEMIC YEAR: STUDENTS PARTICIPATING IN THE EARLY COMPLETION PROGRAMME (ECP) As you are aware, the university has made several changes to the academic calendar that were necessitated by the deferred start of the academic year coupled with several Covid-19 related challenges. In order to assist students who had hoped to complete their qualifications at the end of the first semester, Unisa has implemented a special once-off Early Completion Programme (ECP) whereby final-year students registered for Semester 1 of 2021 who can potentially complete their qualifications, are identified and permitted to complete their last modules during a special June/July 2021 examination period. 1 1.1. 1.2. 1.3. Students who qualify for the ECP are: final-year students with FIVE semester modules or less outstanding to complete their qualifications. final-year students who applied on the DSAR06 form and have been granted special permission to enrol for two additional modules in the first semester. final-year students who are registered for the above-mentioned outstanding modules in the Semester 1/2021 period. Students who do not qualify for the ECP are students who have any of the following module/programme selections for 2021: Modules registered for both semester 1/21 and semester 2/21. Modules offered in and registered for semester 2/21 only. Year modules. Practical modules (including but not limited to laboratory requirements and teaching practice modules). WIL modules (including but not limited to experiential learning requirements, eg MIN2617). Modules registered for non-degree purposes (NDP). Short Learning Programmes. Master's and doctoral programmes. 3 Opting out While we make this opportunity for final year students who hope to complete their qualifications at the end of the first semester, we are aware that many final year students do not wish to form part of this group. If you do not wish to participate, you can opt out by sending an email to [email protected] before 5 May 2021. Please include your student number and send the email from your mylife email account only. Please note that if you choose to opt-out, you will write all of your examinations during the September-November examination period. You are also required to submit the assignments as per Tutorial Letter 001.
